Usually the port has worn contacts or a bent pin. We test with known-good cables first; if it turns out to be the cable, there's no charge for the diagnosis.
Yes. Pocket lint packs into the bottom of the port until the cable can't seat fully. We clean the port without damaging the contacts, then test with a known-good cable, and sometimes a clean is all it needs. Diagnosis is free. Please don't dig into the port with anything metal: you can bend the pins.
Yes. iPhone 8 through iPhone 14 use Lightning, and iPhone 15 and newer, including iPhone Air, use USB-C. They're different parts, so tell us your model when you call and we'll check we have the right port before you come in.

Case-by-case, call the shop first to describe the issue. Most desktop power problems are PSU-related rather than port-related, but we can advise on what's worth bringing in.
